Here's a tip about selecting a home inspector that might well save you a lot of heartache.

It goes without saying that you should interview several home inspectors before hiring one. In the course of your intereview you should ask the inspector whether he or she has completed NACHI's Ethics Obstacle Course. NACHI is The National Association for Certified Home Inspectors. If the inspector hasn't completed this examination, ask if he or she has completed a similar exam for the professional association to which they belong.

You can see the provisions of the Ethics Obstacle Course by clicking here.

Not all home inspectors are equal. Some are much more knowledgeable and have more experience in making inspections. Since a good home inspection can save you thousands of dollars, its always best to interview several before choosing which one will work for you.
